The co-operation between design company Naval Consult and shipyard Larsnes Mek Verksted continues with an order from Kristoffersen Fiskebåt for a newbuilding.
Scheduled to be completed in December 2017, the new Gunnar K will be the yard’s newbuild no 60, the tenth in the series built by the same combination of yard and designer.
Gunnar K is designed as a combination purse seiner and seine netter with a 420 cubic metre capacity in six RSW tanks, or which five can be used for live fish, fish in RSW or fish in slurry ice. A vacuum pump system is part of the design, and this can be arranged for discharging, as well as as for pumping fish from the purse seine or seine net.
The new vessel will have two net bins and combination winches for handling both purse seine and seine net gear, with a 20-tonne pull and capacity for twelve coils of 50mm diameter seine rope.
According to designer Naval Consult, Gunnar K will be one of the most effective and advanced fishing vessels of its kind when it is delivered, with optimised lines for good seakeeping qualities and low fuel consumption.
Gunnar K will have an overall length of 38.65 metres, with a beam of 9.25 metres a 3.85 metre depth to the main deck and a 6.20 metre depth to the shelterdeck. Accommodation will be in four single and three double cabins.
