Southland Fish Supplies is going to open $1 million fish processing factory in Eden, which will process a variety of fish caught locally for sale to major supermarkets, wholesalers and regional retailers. The two-storey factory will come up in Imlay Street beside Eden Wharf. For the local fishermen the new factory is a key to ensuring Eden’s place in the South East Fishery. The new factory will give the company to more control over the price it receives for its fish than before and will ensure the fishery’s viability.
