A new vivier crabber built for Russian Far East fishing company Aqua-Invest is taking the Northern sea route for its delivery trip to Vladivostok from the outfitting yard at Rybinsk in western Russia.
The 57.70-metre Sergey Prikhodko has been built under the investment quotas programme and is designed by Damen Engineering in St Petersburg to operate in the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk.
The new crabber is the first of a pair of sister vessels and has been built at the Nobel Brothers Shipyard, part of the Kalashnikov corporation.
Sergey Prikhodko has nine RSW tanks with a 640 cubic metre capacity with chilling systems, as well as systems for monitoring and maintaining water quality and temperature. There are also systems on board for discharging live catches in areas of exceptionally high or low temperatures.
The main engine is a 1620kW unit, backed up by a 544kW genset and a 92kW emergency generator.
