The seafood show in Brussels was held between April 27 and 30 and was attended by renowned seafood companies from all over the world. Ten provincial companies and organizations attended the European Seafood Exposition (ESE), meeting buyers and sellers from global retail, food service and wholesale companies.
One of the New Brunswick companies said that presenting their products on this international stage will give them the chance to further broaden their consumer base and make important new contacts. It is true that the seafood products from New Brunswick have become world-renowned for their exceptional taste and high quality. It is told that the ESE brought together buyers and sellers from 87 countries to showcase every category of seafood product, storage and processing equipment, and many seafood-related services, including freight handling, insurance, and information technology.
Staff from the Department of Fisheries also exhibited at the ESE, providing buyers with details on New Brunswick’s fishing and aquaculture industries. Doucet opined that they are committed to selling New Brunswick’s advantages to the international market, and believe strongly that their seafood products are globally competitive.
