A successful visit to the north-east of Scotland by the organiser of the Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2013 fishing show has resulted in several new companies signing up to attend the event.
Hugh Bonner and Sharon Boyle of organiser Mara Media toured a number of fishing ports in the north-east last week, including Peterhead and Fraserburgh, to meet existing exhibitors and also potential new ones. Among the companies that signed up to the show during their visit were leading boatbuilder Macduff Shipyards and fuel supplier Northern Oils, as well as Seafield
Navigation and Jackson Trawls. Dychem Ltd – a first time exhibitor to the Aberdeen show – also announced that it would be attending. The company supplies a range of maintenance and hygiene products for the fishing industry.
Alex Crawford of Dychem said: “The Skipper Expo in Aberdeen looks set to be a tremendous event and we are delighted to be attending. We are looking forward to meeting existing and new customers.”
During their visit, Hugh Bonner and Sharon Boyle sat in on a meeting of the Whitefish Supply Forum at the invitation of the Scottish Seafood Association. They also visited Peterhead fish market.
Sharon Boyle said: “It was a fantastic visit and we were over-whelmed by the warm reception we received. We also used the trip to consult on ways that we can further enhance the show so as to meet the aspirations of both exhibitors and visitors.”
The Skipper Expo International Aberdeen 2013 will be held in Aberdeen on 10th and 11th May 2013 at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre (AECC). More information at www.maramedia.ie.
