The latest newbuild from Icelandic boatbuilder Trefjar is a 10.99 metre Cleopatra 36 for a fisherman in the far north of Norway.
Maya has been built for skipper-owner Tom Egil Hansen and has been delivered to Honningsvåg, where fishing gear and deck hardware are being fitted before the new boat starts fishing. Maya is being rigged to alternate longlining and netting.
The usual Trefjar layout places the 350hp Scania D9 engine driving a ZF286IV reduction gear aft, and the fishroom with capacity for fifteen 380 litre tubs amidships.
Maya has a forward wheelhouse with a control position on the starboard side, outfitted with Furuno, Olex and Simrad electronics, including an autopilot linked to the hydraulic bow and stern thrusters and designed to activate automatically as required.
The galley and mess area are on the port side of the wheelhouse, and the accommodation space below provides a shower, toilet and bunks for three.
