Alvaro Jimenez, current Managing Director of Marine Harvest Chile, has decided to resign from his post from today. Until the selection of the new Managing Director Jimenez will work as acting MD in order to ensure a smooth handover. In real terms he will be working as a special advisor for Marine Harvest Chile until April 10 2011. he was working as MD in Chile since April 2008.
Marine Harvest CEO Alf-Helge Aarskog said that the company is grateful for Alvaro Jimenez’ strong contribution in the significant downscaling and turnaround of its Chilean operations over the last years, required when the ISA disease struck the entire Chilean salmon farming industry in 2007.
Aarskog informed that Jimenez took over management at a critical point in time and has rapidly reduced Marine Harvest’s exposure in Chile and positioned the organisation and the asset base for profitable growth when the conditions are right.
