Kaliningrad trawl manufacturer Fishering Service is busy with a steady steam of orders for its pelagic trawl gear.
In the last few weeks Fishering Service has delivered Atlantica 1920 trawls to Icelandic operators Samherji for its factory vessel Vilhelm Thorsteinsson and to Westmann Islands-based fishing company Ísfélagið for its RSW vessel Sigurður, both for fishing in the North Atlantic.
Both customers opted for diamond/hexagonal mesh trawls with the forward sections constructed in overbraided PEN ropes, and both are made with eight-panel bellies. Sigurður also took delivery of an 80 metre, eight-panel pumping codend.
Also fishing in the North Atlantic, Russian factory trawler Armenak Babaev has taken delivery of a new Atlantic 1440 hexagonal mesh trawl with an eight-panel belly and a 100-tonne eight-panel codend for fishing mackerel.
The St Vincent and Grenadines-registered Sveaborg has been provided with a full package of trawl gear for fishing mackerel and horse mackerel off western Africa, with Atlantica 720, 1040 and 1120 diamond/hex mesh trawls and four 60-tonne eight-panel codends.
