immy Buchan, skipper of Amity II and original star of BBC’s ‘Trawlermen’, has made a welcome return to the Seafish blog after an eight month absence.
Jimmy’s last blog was in January 2009. His career in the political arena was beginning and he stepped aside to allow other fishermen the chance to share their stories with the nation on the Seafish website.
No-one could fill Jimmy’s shoes, so the popular skipper has returned with tales from the wheelhouse about Britain’s most dangerous job.
“I really missed blogging and am excited about getting back in the swing of it. So much has changed in the last few months and I’ve got lots to tell the fans,” said Jimmy.
Gaynyr Dickson, Marketing Communications Executive at Seafish said: “It’s great to have Jimmy back online. We’ve been receiving emails from his fans throughout his absence so they will be glad to see him back. The public is genuinely interested to hear about life at sea and what it takes to bring fish to your plate.”
Jimmy and his crew fish for the world-famous Scottish langoustine out of Peterhead.
