Three new participating companies have joined the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF), the coalition of industry, science and environmental advocacy.
Indonesian company PT Aneka Tuna Indonesia (ATI), British tuna firm Lovering Foods, Ltd., and French company Thunnus Overseas Group (TOG) are the latest seafood companies to participate in the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF). ATI and TOG are full participating companies; Lovering Foods is at the associate level.
All ISSF participating companies are independently audited via comprehensive methods that assess compliance with ISSF’s conservation measures, the results of which are shared annually in the ISSF compliance report and published in conjunction with the ISSF annual report. This year, in response to requests for deeper information, ISSF also published individual compliance reports for each ISSF participating company.
‘One of the primary objectives of ISSF is to engage a broad array of stakeholders, creating collective movement towards effective tuna resource management, the funding of scientific research and other direct action aimed at improving and maintaining the long term health of tuna stocks,’ ISSF President Susan Jackson said.
‘Bringing on additional companies from Southeast Asia and Europe further expands our global reach.’
