Statistics Iceland has released a new issue of Statistical Series in the topical category of fisheries. This issue presents imported raw material for fish processing.
The total amount of imported raw material for fish processing in the year 2007 was 105,202 tonnes, a decrease of 20,444 tonnes or 16.3% from the year 2006. The value of this import was 5.7 billion ISK which is 500 million ISK higher than former year. Import of herring, catfish, capelin roe, and Norwegian spring-spawning herring decreased but import of cod, capelin, blue whiting and shrimp increased between 2006 and 2007.
