Total catch of Icelandic vessels in May 2008 was 98,373 tonnes compared to 142,319 tonnes in May 2008. Demersal species accounted for 42 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 16 thousand tonnes, haddock 8 thousand tonnes and saithe 6 thousand tonnes.
At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 7.6% in May 2008 compared with May 2008.
