According to Fisheries Research Services (FRS) their Marine Laboratory will be available for the public to visit as a part of Doors Open Day 2008. It is said that the visitors will be taken on a guided tour to gain an insight into some of the range of activities carried out at the FRS Marine Laboratory.
FRS also said that the visitors will have the opportunity to visit the research aquarium, hear details about the world class Fish Veterinary Aquaria soon to be built at the site, have a virtual tour of the research vessel Scotia, and see a fish display showcasing some of the more usual fish that can be found in Scottish waters.
Robin Cook, FRS Chief Executive, informed that they are once again delighted to be participating in the Aberdeen Doors Open Day. This is the fourth year they have taken part and each year we have had excellent feedback from the public. The range of exhibitions and displays on show will promise to interest all who attend. It is told that FRS will help visitors to find out what happens within the FRS Marine Laboratory and provides an opportunity for us to demonstrate how our valued work contributes to aquaculture and fisheries in Scotland.
