There was some good fishing last week as some pair trawlers worked the weekend and with other trawlers finding good fish a total of 11,128 boxes of white fish were landed and sold at Peterhead market Scotland’s premier fishing port on the Monday and Tuesday July 12-13.
With Cod and haddock making £103-£131 per 57kg .
On Monday 12 July, 12 trawlers landed a total of 5,116 boxes of white fish with large cod selling £2.20-£3, medium £2-£2.50, large haddock £2.-£2.20, medium £1.50-£2. Whiting £1.30-£1.50,
Monkfish £3.-£4.20, Coley £1-£1.50, Megrim £2-£3, Plaice 60p-£1, Hake 65p-£1.40.
Trawlers landed Golden Gain, Summer Dawn, Ocean Harvest, Harvester, Fairline, Ryanwood, Denebula, Adorne 11, Aurella, Celestial Dawn, Morning Star, Ocean Reward.
The following day Tuesday 10 trawlers landed 6,012 boxes of white fish with Cod Large selling at £2.20-£3, medium £2-£2.50, Haddock large £2.-£2.50, medium £1.80-£2.30, Whiting £1.20-£1.50, Lemon Sole £1-£4, Monkfish £3.-£3.80, Coley 90p-£1.10, Plaice 60p-£1-20, Megrim £2.50-£5 Ling £1.30-£1.50kg.
Trawlers landed Nordfjordr, Helenus, Starlight Rays, Ocean Bounty, Boy Andrew, Ocean Triumph, Opportune, Budding Rose, Lapwing, Seagull.
Nine trawlers landed 2,775 boxes of white fish on the Wednesday with Cod large selling at £2.40-£3.20, medium £2.20-£2.80, Haddock large £2-£2.50, medium, ££2-£2.50, Whiting £1.30-£1.50, Medium 80p-££1.50, Coley £1-£1.10, Lemon Sole £1.-£5, Monkfish £3.-£3.80, Plaice 80p-£1, megrim £2-£5, hake 50p-£1.50 and ling £1.30-£1.50kg.
Boats landed Karenann, Constant Friend, Heather Sprig, Faithful, Crystal River,, Ocean Trust, Golden Splendour, Achieve and Tranquillity.
The following day Thursday 11 trawlers landed4,559 boxes of white fish with whiting selling at £1.10-£1.40, Lemon Sole £1-£5, Monkfish £3.-£3.80, Coley £1.-£1.10, Megrim 75p-£5.50, Plaice 60p-£1, Hake 75p-£1.80, No cod or haddock were landed.
Trawlers landed Viking Monarch, Ocean Bounty, Demares, Ardent, Advance, Zenith, Valhalla, Ocean Dawn , Courageous, Sagittarius, DFC.
The last day of the week Friday saw 13 trawlers land a total of 3,780 boxes to the market with large Cod selling at £2.20-£3.20, medium £2.20-£2-80, Large Haddock £2.50-£3, medium £2-30-£5, whiting £1.20-1.80, Lemon Sole £1-30-£4-50, Monkfish £3-£4, Coley £1-£1.10, Megrim £1.-£5, plaice 60p-£1.30, hake 50p-£1.70 and Ling £1.30kg.
Boats landed Adorne, Denbula, Arcturus, Fear Not, Tranquillity, Seagull, Our Guide, Boy John, Rosebloom, Faithful, Strathelloit, Amity, Crystal River.
At Fraserburgh harbour market a total of 162 boats landed a total of 5,029 boxes of white fish over the week were prices were fair.
At Buckie 26 boats landed a total of 1,674 boxes of white fish, prawns and squid plus 453 bags of clams. Prices were said to be good.
