The first market of the week Monday November 29 sixteen trawlers landed a total of 4286 boxes of white fish which sold for the following prices Cod Large £2.00-£3.00, Medium £1.50-£2.50, Small £1.20-£1.80, Haddock Large £2.40, Medium £2.00, Small £2.00, Whiting £1.20-£1.50, Round Whiting 90p-£1.10, Lemon Sole £2.00-£6.00, Monkfish £3.80-£4.40, Coley £1.40-£1.50, Megrims £3.00-£6.00, Plaice £1.00-£2.00, Witches £1.00-£3.00, Hake £1.80-£4.00 and Ling £1.70-£1.90.
Trawlers landed MaiMai, Glenugie, Constant Friend, Boy Andrew, Daisy, Opportune (WK) Rosebloom, Boy John, Marcestina Opportunus, Sagittarius, Amity, Karmarra, Fesr Not, Heather Sprig and Karenann.
The following day’s market Tuesday saw eight trawlers land a total of 5529 boxes of white fish which sold at following prices Haddock Large £1.80-£2.20, Medium £1.40-£1.80, Cod Large £1.80-£2.70, medium £1.60-£2.10, small £1.20-£1.80, Whiting 90p-£1.20, Round Whiting 80p-90p, Lemon Sole £1.00-£6.00, Monkfish £3.50-£4.30, Megrims £2.00-£4.00, Coley £1.10-£1.30, Hake £1.00-£3.00, Plaice 60p-£1.50, Ling £1.70 and Witches £1.50-£2.00.
Boats landed Sustain, Vela, Golden Splendour, Quiet Waters, Viking Monarch, Favonius, Lapwing, and Budding Rose.
On the Wednesday there were only four trawlers landing a total of 1739 boxes of white fish which sold at Cod Large £2.20-£2..30, Medium £2.00, Small £1.40-£1.80, Haddock Large £.200., Medium£1.70-£2.00, Whiting 90p-£1.00, Lemon Sole £2.00-£5.00, Monkfish £3.60-£4.00, Coley £1.10-£1.30, Plaice 60p-£1.00, Hake 40p-£2.30, Witches £.00-£2.00 and Ling £1.50.
Trawlers landed Attain, Castlewood, Enterprise and Opportune (WK).
The following market day Thursday saw only Six trawlers land a total of 2882 boxes of white fish which sdold at the following prices, Cod Large £1.90-£2.30, Medium £1.90-£2.10, small £1.30-£1.80, Large Haddock £2.00-£2.20, medium £2.00-£2.20,Metros £1.20-£1.40, Whiting £1.10-£1.30, Whiting Round £1.00- £1.30, Monkfish £3.60-£4.00 Coley £1.00-£1.30, Lemon Sole £2.00-£6.00, Hake 80p-£2.60 and Ling £1.40-£1.50.
Trawlers landed Courageous, Ocean Dawn, Faithful, Crystal River, Arctures and Rosemount.
The last market of the week Friday saw Seven boats land a total of 2786 boxes of white fish which sold at market for the following prices Haddock Large £2.00-£2.50, Medium £2.00-£2.50, Cod Large £2.00-”.70, Medium £1.80-£2.10, small £1.10-£2.00, Whiting £1.10-£1.30, Monkfish £3.00-£4.50, Coley £1.10-1.40, Lemon Sole £1.00-£5.00, Megrims £1.00-£4.50, Hake 40p-£1.85, Plaice 65p-£1.50, Witches £1.00-£1.50 and Ling £1.00-£1.40.
Trawlers landed Phoenix, Falcon, Golden Sceptre, Sunrise, Ocean Harvest, Harvester, Ocean Venture.
At Peterhead Scotland’s premier fishing port there where total landings fir the week from 41 trawlers landing a total of 17,222, boxes of white fish, There were also Two Pelagic landings go Mackerel.
At Fraserburgh harbour 61 trawlers landed a total of 3155 boxes of white fish which sold at average prices.
At Buckie harbour only two boats landed at total of 54 boxes of white fish, prawns and squid for the week due to bad weather conditions.
At Ullapool Harbour it was a decent week with a welcome return of Mackerel landings. Four Irish pelagic trawlers landed a total 126 tonnes of mackerel. Two Scottish white fish trawlers landed 44 tonnes of mixed whitefish, Two Scottish Crabbers landed 22 tonnes of brown crab and One Scottish Scalloper landed 32 bags of locally caught scallops. All sold for good prices.
At Pittenweem Hsarbour, Fife the local prawn fleet made good landings for the first half of the week which sold for good prices at the local fish market. But the fleet remain in harbour for the later part of the week due to heavy snow.
