With Moderate fish supplies at Peterhead Fish Market Scotland’s premier fishing port at the beginning of last week April 25,there were over 4000 boxes of fish landed for the first two days of the week.
Haddock small sold for £142-£182 per 57kg box and Whiting sold at £108-£137 per 57kg box and Coley sold at £68-£80.
On the first market of the week Monday April 25 Four trawlers landed a total of 1895 boxes of white fish which sold at the following prices Large Cod £2.60-£3.20, Medium £2.50-£3.00, Haddock L:large £2.40-£2.70, Medium £2.40-£2.80, Whiting £1.90-£2.10, Round whiting !.00-£1.20, Lemon Sole £1.50-£6.00, Coley £1.00-£1.20, Megrims With Drawn £5.50, Monkfish £3.40-£3.90, Plaice 60p-£1.50, Hake 70p-£3, Witches £1.00-£1.50.
Trawlers landed Solstice, Acorn, Aurelia, and Sardonyx.
The next market day Tuesday saw Five Trawlers land a total of 2260 boxes of whitefish selling at Large Cod £2.70-£3.20, Medium £2.50-£2.80, No Large Haddock, No Medium Haddock sold , Whiting £1.90-£2.40, Round Whiting £1.90-£2.10, Lemon Sole £2.00-£6.00, Monkfish £3.40-£3.80, Coley £1.20-£1.40, Megrims £3.00-£5.50, Hake £1.50-£4.30, Plaice 50p-£3.00, Witches £1.00-£2.00 and Ling £1.20-£1.50.
Trawlers landed Content, Sunrise, Valhalla, Helenus, Nordfjordr.
The next day’s Market saw Thirteen trawlers land a total of 4552 boxes of whitefish which sold for Large Haddock £2.70-£3.00, Medium £2.70-£3.00, Large Cod £2.60-£3.20. Medium2.50-£2.80, Whiting £2.00-£2.50, Round Whiting £1.40-£1.90, Lemon Sole £1.50-£6.00, Monkfish £3.40-£3.90, Coley £1.00-£4.50, Megrims £1.50-£4.50, Plaice 60p-£1.10, Hake 40p-£3.00, Witches £1.00-£1.50 and Ling £1.00-£1.30.
Trawlers landed Ocean Trust, Phoenix, Falcon, Atlantic Challenge, our Lass, Beryl, Onward, Shalimar (PD), Artemis, Golden Sceptre, Acorn, Heather Sprig and Crystal Tide.
On the next day’s market Thursday Saw Twelve trawlers land a total of 4731 boxes of whitefish selling at the following prices. Haddock Large £3.00-£3.50, Medium £3.00-£3.50, Cod Large £2.90-£3.50, Medium £2.50-£3.00, Round Whiting £1.20-£2.00, Whiting £2.00-£2.50, Lemon Sole £1.50-£6.00, Coley £1.00-£1.30, Monkfish £2.00-£3.80, Megrims £1.10-£5.00, Plaice Withdrawn £1.00. Hake £1.00-£3.00, Witches 80p- £1.50, and Ling £1.00-£1.30.
Trawlers Landed Beryl, Onward, Demares, Karenann, Rosemount, Arcturus, Radaince, Celestial Dawn, MaiMai, Harvester, Ocean Harvest, and Constant Friend.
Last market day of the week saw four trawlers land a total of 1712 boxes of whitefish which sold at the following prices. Large Cod £3.00-£3.80. Medium £2.80-£3.40, Haddock Lalarge £2.60, Medium £2.60, Whiting £1.70-£2.20. Whiting £1.70-£2.20, Lemon Sole £2.00-£8.10, Megrims With Drawn £5.00, Coley 65p-£1.20, Monkfish £3.00-£3.80, Plaice With Drawn £1.00, Hake 40p-£2.70, Witches 70p-£1.50 and Ling 80p-£1.50.
Trawlers landed Seagull, Tranquility, Favonius and Amity.
There were a total landings from 38 trawlers at Peterhead Harbour fish market total ling 15,150 boxes of whitefish.
At Fraserburgh Burgh Harbour Market 51 trawlers landed a total of 2,074 boxes of whitefish which sold for reported fair prices.
At Ullapool there was good week with Five Spanish liner/netters landing 77 tonnes of mixed white fish. One Scottish trawlers landed 30 tonnes of mixes white fish while a Scottish Crabber landed 13 tonnes of brown crabs.
At Buckie Harbour only four boats landed 91 tonnes of white fish, prawns and squid which sold for good prices.
At Pittenweem Harbour the local prawn fishing fleet had a good week with good landings which sold at market for good prices.
