With storm force 11 gales again severely hitting Scotland fish supplies at the start of last week were low.
Large Haddock made £137-£157 per kg , Whiting made £91-£97 per kg box and Coley £57-£86 per kg box.
On the first market day of the week Monday 14 February Twenty Two trawlers landed a total of 47o8 boxes of whitefish which sold at the following prices Cod Large £2.50-£3.50, Medium £2.30-£2.70, Small £2.00-£2.40. Haddock Large £2.40-£2.75. Medium £2.40-£2.75. Whiting £1.30-£1.70, Round Whiting £1.00-£1.50, Lemon Sole £2.00-£5.00, Monkfish £4.00-£5.00, Coley £1.00-£1.50, Megrims £2.00-£6.00, Plaice 60p-£1.50, Hake £2.00-£3.50, Ling £1.50-£2.60 and Witches £1.50-£2.00.
Trawlers landed MaiMai, Starlight Rays, Starlight, Sagittarius Ocean Trust, Opportunus, Constant Friend, Artemis, Jubilee Quest, Fruitful Bough, Starthelliot, Faithful, Crystal River, Celestial Dawn, Avocet, Allegiance, Ocean Venture, Atlantic Challenge, Golden Sceptre, Aurella, Benarkle and Glenugie.
The following day’s market Tuesday Five trawlers landed a total of 752 boxes of white fish which sold for the following prices. Large Cod £3.00, Medium £2.50-£2.80, There were no Haddock Sold, Whiting £1.20-£1.60, Round Whiting £1.00-£1.30, Coley £1.00-£1.30, Lemon Sole £2.00-£6.00, Monkfish £4.50-£5.20, Megrims £2.00-£6.00, Plaice 80p-£1.50, Hake £2.00-£3.00, Witches £1.00-£2.00 and Ling £2.00-£2.30.
Trawlers landed Norlanteen, Maracestina, Moreemma, Favonius and Amity.
On Wednesday there were Five trawler landings of 1419 boxes of whitefish which sold at market for the following prices. Large Cod £2.50-£3.30, Medium £2.50-£2.80, There were No Large Haddock sold, Haddock Medium £2.00-£2.20, Round Haddock £1.15-£1.40, Whiting £1.80, Round Whiting £1.30-£1.40, Lemon Sole £2.00-£6.00, Monkfish £4.00-£5.00, Coley £1.55-£1.90, Megrims £4.50, Place 70p, There were no Hake, Witches sold, Ling £2.00.
Trawlers landed that day were Our Lass, Russa Teign, Ocean Harvest, Renown, and Harvester.
On the next days Thursday Five trawlers landed a total of 2866 boxes of whitefish which sold at the following prices Large Cod £2,50-£3.10, Medium £2.20-£2.70, No Large Haddock Sold, Haddock Medium £1.80-£2.00, Round Haddock £1.20-£1.50, Whiting £1.40-£2.00, Round Whiting £1.30-£1.60, Lemon Sole £4.00-£5.00, Monkfish £4.00-£5.60, Coley £1.20-£1.55, Megrims £3.00-£6.00, Plaice 70p-£1.50, Hake £1.70-£3.20, Witches £2.00 and Ling £2.00.
Trawlers landed that day were Morey Endeavour, Lapwing, Budding Rose, MaiMai, and Valhalla.
The last market of the week Friday at Peterhead showed a little better with nine trawlers landing a total of 4299 boxes of whitefish which sold at the following prices. Large Haddock £1.80-£2.80, Medium £1.80-£2.00, Large Cod £1.80-£2.80, Medium £1.80-£2.20, Whiting £1.30-£1.70, Round Whiting £1.10-£1.30, No Lemon Sole sold, Monkfish £4.00-£5.50, Coley £1.00-£1.50, Megrims £4.70-£7.3o, No Hake Sold, Witches £2.00-£3.00 and Ling £1.50-£1.60.
Trawlers landed Starlight Rays, Starlight, Helenus, Ocean Harvest, MaiMai, Harvester, Nordfjordr, Summer Dawn, and Golden Gain.
At Peterhead harbour there were a total landings of the week from 46 trawlers totalling 14,064 boxes of whitefish, There were Two pelagic vessel landings of Herring.
At Fraser harbour there were 47 trawler landings over the week with a total of 2336 boxes of white fish which sold for fair prices.
At Ullapool Harbour it was a busier week with Seven Spanish line/netters landing 263 tonnes of mixed white fish, while Two Scottish trawlers landed 72 tonnes of white fish and Two Scottish Crabbers landed 24 tonnes of brown crabs.
At Scrabster 19 vessels landed a total of7064 boxes of mixed white fish which sold for reported good prices..
At Buckie Harbour only four boats landed 542 bags of Clams the boats were Kelly, Georgia Dawn, Our Heritage and Golden Primrose.
At Pittenweem Harbour Fife the local prawn fleet had a fair week with good landings and fair prices reported.
