Low to good whitefish supplies ensured fair prices on the first two markets of the week beginning Monday January 10 at Peterhead Fish Market Scotland’s premier fishing port where 4910 boxes were landed.
Large gutted haddock fetched £171 per 57 kg box at Peterhead on Tuesday 11 January with small and round haddock selling at £154-£171 and £125-£148 respectively.
The market of the week Monday January 10 saw Ten trawlers land a total of 3572 boxes of white fish which sols at the following prices Large Cod £2.50-£3.30, Medium £2.00-£2.70, Haddock Large £2.50-£2.80, Medium £2.50-£2.80, Round Haddock £1.00-£1.20, Whiting £1.50-£1.80, Round Whiting 90p-£1.10, Lemon Sole £3.00-£5.00, Coley £1.40-£1.60, Monkfish £3.30-£4.20, Megrims £4.00-£6.80, Plaice 60p-£3.00, Hake £2.00-£3.00, Witches £2.00-£3.00 and Ling £2.00-£2.30.
Trawlers Landed Ocean Bounty, Ocean Harvest, Harvester, Amity, Celestial Dawn, Arcane, Ryanwood, Acorn, Adrone and Allegiance.
The following day Tuesday saw Five trawlers land a total of 1338 boxes of white fish which sold for the following Haddock Large £3.00, Medium £3.00, Cod Large £2.60-£3.50, Medium £2.20-£3.00, Whiting £1.60-£2.20, Round Whiting £1.10-£1.50, Lemon Sole £7.00, Monkfish £3.60-£4.40, Coley £1.40-£1.55, Megrims £5.00, Plaice £1.00, Hake £4.00, Witches £2.00 and Ling £2.50.
Trawlers Landed Tranquillity, Courage, Starlight Rays, Rosebloom and Boy John.
On the next market day Wednesday saw Four trawlers land a total of 1430 boxes of white fish which sold at the following Large Cod £3.00-£3.90, Medium £2.70-£2.90, Large Haddock No landings, Round Haddock £1.40-£1.60, Whiting £1.80-£2.00, Round Whiting £1.40-£1.50, No Lemon Sole, Monkfish £3.00, Coley £1.50-£1.55, Megrims £3.80, Plaice 85p there were no landings of Hake, Witches or Ling.

On the next day Thursday only four trawlers landed a total of 2531 boxes of Whitefish which sold at the following prices. Haddock Large £2.50-£3.00, Medium £2.50-£3.00, Large Cod £2,30-£3.00, Medium £2.30-£2.50, Whiting £1.80-£2.00, Round Whiting £1.20-£1.40, No Lemon Sole, Monkfish £3.00-£4.20, Coley £1.50-£1.66, Megrims £2.50-£5.00, Plaice £1.00, Hake £2.50-£5.00 No Ling.

The last market of the week Friday Eleven trawlers landed a total of 5076 boxes of whitefish which sold at the following prices. Cod Large £2.00-£2.90, Medium £2.00-£2.40, Haddock Large £2.50-£3.00, Medium £2.50-£3.00, Round Haddock£1.05-£1.30, Whiting £1.40-£1.70, Lemon Sole £2.00-£6.00, Coley £1.30-£1.50, Monkfish £2.50-£3.70, Megrims £2.00-£7.00, Plaice 85p-£1.50, Hake £2.00-£4.00, Witches £2.00-£2.50 and Ling £2.00-£2.50.
Trawlers Landed Our Lass, Tranquillity, Crystal River, Faithful, Helenus, Nordfjordr, Acheive, Maimai, Rosebloom, Boy John and Favonius.
Landings at Peterhead for the week from 34 trawlers total 13,947 boxes of white fish. There were also 11 pelagic landings of all mackerel.
At Buckie Harbour Four Boats landed nine boxes of whitefish, prawns and squid plus 253 bags of Clams all sold for fair prices.
At Fraserburgh harbour there were fair landings of whitefish which sold for good prices.
At Scrabster harbour there were 19 trawlers landings for the week totalling 5674 boxes of white fish which sold for good prices at market.
At Pittenweem Harbour Fife there were good landings of prawns from the local prawn fleet which sold for good prices.
