Total catch of Icelandic vessels in March 2010 was 117,707 tonnes compared to 108,136 tonnes in March 2009. Demersal species accounted for 49 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 22 thousand tonnes, haddock 8 thousand tonnes, redfish 9 thousand tonnes and saithe nearly 4 thousand tonnes. The capelin catch was 65 thousand tonnes and the pearlside catch was 2,500 tonnes.
At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 21.5% in March 2010 compared with March 2009.
