The first longliner to be built by a shipyard in the Russian Far East
The 63-metre Nagget is being built for Sigma Marine Technology and is one of a series of orders placed by the company with Vostochnaya Verf in Vladivostok. Other vessels being built for the same company include a number of crabbers.
Nagget is built under the state investment quotas programmem designed to stimulate both fisheries and shipbuilding sectors. The Vostochnaya Verf shipyard has strugggled financially in recent years, and has now under the management of the state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation.
The new longliner is designed for a crew of 34 and for operation in 50cm ice condition in the Sea of Okhotsk. The catch handling deck is laid out for both processed and wholefrozen production.
