A new mission comprising European Union (EU) veterinary experts will be here in early March to assess measures taken by the Malaysian authorities for local seafood products to conform to the EU standards.
The mission would assess the measures taken to address the shortcomings highlighted by the 2008 inspection mission, said ambassador and head of delegation of the European Commission in Malaysia, Vincent Piket.
“We are hopeful that the measures taken by the authorities can lead to a resumption of the export of Malaysian seafood to the EU,” he told Bernama here Tuesday.
