CATch-Fish and SEAFISH are happy to announce this years training course in Trawl Technology to be held at the North Sea Centre Science Park, Denmark.
The course gives a detailed insight into the construction and optimal use of different trawls as well as energy consumption, selective properties, performance, legal and practical aspects of technical measures etc. – for people who in their professional life requires a high level knowledge of the trawl gear.
Time and venue: October 26 – 31, 2014 at The North Sea Science Park, Hirtshals, Denmark.
The course is intended for people from the industry as well as research, – fishers, fleet managers, gear designers, net manufacturers etc. and gear technologists, fisheries biologists, fisheries college lecturers etc.
Whether you are fishing with trawls, managing a fishing fleet, selling trawls, teaching students about them or you are using them as a sampling tool or a research object you are likely to gain from the courses and get a new perspective on this – often controversial – fishing gear.

The course has been given biannual since 1999 with Ulrik Jes Hansen as training course manager and the North Sea Science Park as important facility during the course. Today Ulrik have formed CATch-Fish and cooperate with SEAFISH, UK.
