The Nakhodka Shipyard in the Russian Far East continues to deliver newbuilds for the series of new crabbers being built for the Antey Group, of of the country’s largest crab vessel operators.
This month the yard has floated off the fifth and sixth vessels in the series of eight newbuilds that are being constructed under the Russian government’s investment quotas initiative.
These 57.70-metre, 12.60-metre crabbers are designed to carry up to 120 tonnes of live catch in their nine vivier holding tanks with a total capacity of 680 cubic metres
The keels of the initial vessels in the series for fishing in the Sea of Okhotsk and the Bering Sea were laid in 2020.
The first three in the series were completed last year and this year three more have been floated off, including the fifth in the series, Zaliv Shelikhova and the sixth, Bykta Natali which were launched this month.
These vessels are now undergoing outfitting at the yard’s quayside ahead of delivery to the Antey Group.
