The Nauta Shipyard in Poland has launched a new fishing vessel, partly outfitted for completion at Karstensens Skibsværft in Skagen. This is Nauta’s sixth launch this year at its Newbuilding Division.
Clipperton is a 63 metre by 13 metre beam pelagic trawler, ordered by Swedish company B-C Pelagic AB from Karstensens Skibsvaerft AS. This is the twelfth partly-outfitted newbuild for the Danish yard, which has been co-operating with Nauta for a number of years. There are currently five vessels under construction at Nauta for Karstensens, which has a healthy orderbook of newbuilds for customers in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the UK.
Since the opening of Nauta’s newbuilding division in Gdańsk in September 2013, the yard has already signed contracts for building 22 fishing vessels.
Other important areas of activity for the shipyard’s newbuilding division activity are construction of research units as well as service offshore vessels, plus Nauta has also recently signed a key contract for a special purpose signal intelligence vessel for the Swedish Navy.
