Shetland fisherman Marvin Inkster is about to cycle the length of Great Britain to raise money for the CLAN 123 appeal. The aim of the appeal is to raise money to build a new cancer support centre – CLAN House – in Aberdeen where the charity offers a wide range of support to cancer patients and their families.
Setting off from his home in the island of Burra, Marvin will cycle to Lerwick to board the ferry to Orkney, cycle across Orkney before taking another ferry to John O’Groats. He will then attempt to cycle the length of the British mainland, aiming to cover the distance in 10 days – an average of about 100 miles per day.
Anybody wishing to sponsor Marvin will find a sponsor form at the reception of LHD Ltd in Alexandra Building, Lerwick or by contacting his sister Ingrid Sandison on 01595 693730 or by email ijsandison@hotmail.com.
