Thousands of fish and chip shops across the UK kick off their bid today (Wednesday 4 July) to become the National Fish & Chip Shop of the Year 2007, the 20th year of the competition.
Organised by seafood industry body Seafish, the competition rewards the best performing chippies in the UK – those reaching the highest standards of quality, customer service, innovation and food hygiene. Being crowned the UK’s top chippy is regarded as the industry’s highest honour and regional winning shops can expect to see an increase of up to 40 per cent in business.
