The Chantier Glehen yard at Douarnenez in Brittany has completed a new coastal trawler, built to a Coprexma design.
The Caraïbes II has been built for Le Guilvinec fisherman Julien le Brun, replacing his older Caraïbes, which was built in 1986.
The trawler measures 14.90 metre overall, with a 5.90 metre beam and has a 16 cubic metre fishroom. It is designed for targeting primarily langoustine as well as other demersal species.
This is one of three 14.90 metre trawlers being built at the Chantier Glehen yard, as well as a 25 metre trawler for Le Guilvinec fishing company Armement Bigouden.
