“Yes, we are happy,” says the “Aqua Nor General” Mr Odd Berg. “Firstly we are very happy with the number of visitors and the number of exhibitors. This year we had 335 exhibitors in 277 stands, which is about even with 2007. In view of the global financial crisis, we believe we have reason to be happy with that. With regard to visitors, we ended up with 14,108 registered visitors from 59 countries. This was about the same number of visitors as in 2007, but there was a significant increase in number of countries represented. In 2007 43 nationalities were registered, so we saw an increase of over 37% this year. In all, foreign visitors constituted some 22% of all visitors. Aqua Nor is thus a truly international exhibition of importance to the aquaculture industry. The number of high level foreign delegations also underscores this fact.”
“We have had a number of good comments from exhibitors who have been content and many of them have also pointed out that most of the visitors were very interesting from a business point of view and showed great interest in the products on show. Some of the exhibitors have already booked space at the next Aqua Nor.”
“One exciting aspect of this year’s exhibition was the many conferences, mini-seminars and presentations organized by various associations, institutions and companies in connection with the exhibition itself. In all, there were 17 such events. This emphasizes the importance of Aqua Nor as a meeting place for the industry on a global basis.”
“After every exhibition we do a thorough evaluation, and we are doing so this year, too. This year we had a new web site, which we will develop further. Next year we plan to update the web page continuously during the Nor-Fishing exhibition and put much more up-to-date information on the web, available for both the general public and the press. Next year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Nor-Fishing exhibition, and we are very much looking forward to this event,” concludes Mr. Berg.
