Fredrik Nygaard (33) has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. He replaces Aaron Kramer (34), who will become President in charge of Aker BioMarine’s development and marketing of pharmaceutical and omega-3 concentrate products. Aker BioMarine’s sales and marketing department and corporate controller unit are also being expanded.

An aggressive market launch in the United States of our Superba Krill dietary supplement is ramping up. Aker BioMarine is also taking steps to seize market opportunities for omega-3 concentrates and pharmaceutical products,” says Aker BioMarine’s President and CEO Hallvard Muri.
Fredrik Nygaard has worked for Aker and Aker-family companies since 2001. He has served as CFO of the exchange-listed ship-owning company American Shipping Company and joins Aker BioMarine from his most recent position as Aker associate partner. Mr. Nygaard will become Aker BioMarine’s CFO on 1 July 2009. Nygaard holds an MBE from BI Norwegian School of Management.
Aaron Kramer, an Aker BioMarine executive since 2007, has served as CFO of the company since the fall of 2008. Mr. Kramer’s professional experience includes McKinsey & Company’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Products practice (New Jersey, USA) and the pharmaceuticals major Merck & Co., Inc. Mr. Kramer holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
