A new 25.95 metre netter/seine netter is to be built for a fishing company based on the island of Grímsey off the north coast of Iceland.
The new Hafborg is due lat next year and is to replace an older 18.70 metre boat. The 26m LOA by 8m beam newbuild has been designed by Ráðgarður Ship Consulting and BP Shipping Agency has handled arrangements with the yard in Hvide Sande in Denmark where the boat will be built.
The newbuild will have capacity for up to 50 tonnes of fish iced in 135 tubs in its fishroom, a considerable increase on the old Hafborg’s 17-tonne carrying capacity.
