ECOREP-Piriou has signed an order for a catamaran for the Eurl Zizou fish farm at Chlef in Algeria. This boat is scheduled for delivery in June 2017 in Ténès.
This is the first aluminium catamaran entirely built in Algeria, and this 17 metre LOA, 6.20 metre beam vessel will be equipped with two 280hp engines and a 1.30t/15m capacity crane. With a large 75 square metre deck area, this catamaran can also have capacity for a maximum 25 tonne deck load.
ECOREP-Piriou will also deliver a 10 metre fibreglass support vessel designed for a flexible daily operating routine which will feature a platform for divers to carry out fish larvae and facility surveillance, as well as a hydraulic outlet to connect the food supply system.
In order to respond to the challenges and strong growth of aquaculture in Algeria, ECOREP-Piriou has simultaneously developed a complete range of 14 to 17 metre catamarans as well as two 7.50 to 10 metre support vessels. The shipyard can also perform servicing and maintenance in its Bouharoun site.
The ECOREP-Piriou joint-venture is already a leader in Algeria for fish vessel construction and repair. This first aluminium unit demonstrates the opportunities and targets for development set for the joint venture – to become a shipyard dedicated to the construction of steel, aluminium and composite vessels up to 550 tonnes, and associated services.
Established in February 2015, ECOREP-Piriou is a joint-venture (ECOREP 51% – Piriou 49%) located at Bouharoun – Wilaya de Tipaza, 40km west of Algiers. ECOREP- Piriou combines the experience and expertise of ECOREP subsidiary CCNBH, a leader in Algeria for fibreglass construction and of the Piriou Group, France’s leading private shipyard.
