Boulogne shipbuilder Socarenam has launched the eighteenth in the long series of trawlers it has built for Erquy fishing company Porcher.
The 25-metre, 13-metre breadth Sémillante was handed over at the end of January to Jean Porcher, whose fishing company is based at Saint-Alban in the north of Brittany.
The new vessel is reported to represent a €6 million investment for the company. Construction began in mid-2023 and the new Sémillante is built to the same design as Aventurine, which was delivered in 2023.
Sémillante is now in the final stages of outfitting at the yard’s quayside in Boulogne and will undergo trials before leaving for Erquy in a few weeks to start fishing.
