With a massive 8000 cubic metre capacity, the world’s largest live fish carrier has been delivered by the Cemre shipyard in Turkey to its Norwegian owners.
The 110-metre, 24.60-metre breadth Seigrunn is the latest in a new generation of specialised tonnage to meet the Norwegian salmon sector’s growing demand for carrying capacity.
Seigrunn is built for fish carrier operator SeiStar Holding. It has cylindrical fish tanks to ensure safe fish handling, and the the new vessel comes with a hybrid propulsion system with energy storage capacity to provide efficient operation.
It has a service speed of 11 knots and accommodation on board is for a crew of up to 16.
