Norwegian operator Rostein has placed an order for a new fish carrier, the latest in a longstanding collaboration between the company, the Larsnes Mek Verkstad yard and designer Skipskompetanse, as well as a number of other key suppliers.
Rostein has a contract with salmon producers Lovundlaks Sjø, Kvarøy Fiskeoppdrett, Seløy Sjøfarm and Kobbvåglaks, giving it the longterm activity base to justify the new vessel.
This 82-metre, 15.50-metre breadth newbuild is based on the last live fish carrier to be delivered, Ro Senja, and will as the previous designs be equipped with battery, diesel-electric propulsion and will carry the design designation SK 6000 DEH V.
For Skipskompetanse, this newbuild with a 3700 cubic metre tank capacity and accommodation for 12 crew in ten cabins secures a substantial design workload in developing the project and implementing changes to ensure it meets new requirements and performs as expected.
