With only a few days to go before the P&J Live Arena’s doors open for the Scottish Skipper Expo 2022, the buzz around the event is growing, according to Sharon Boyle, commercial fishing manager for show organiser Mara Media.
‘We’ve been looking forward to this for so long now, and it’s wonderful to see such strong exhibitor interest in the expo,’ she said.
This year is the tenth anniversary of the first Scottish Skipper Expo in Aberdeen, since when the event has grown steadily.
The last couple of years have been challenging, with Covid-19 shutting down both Irish and Scottish Skipper events in 2020 and 2021 – but the Irish Skipper returned with a bang earlier this year, and there’s every reason to believe that the Scottish Skipper will be just as solid a success after two years with virtually no industry events taking place.
This year’s even takes place for the first time in the P&J Live Arena, bringing together 180 exhibitors from 18 different countries.
‘After a challenging couple of years, it is important that the UK and wider international industry has a meeting place where productive business can be achieved in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere,’ Sharon Boyle said.
‘Our last expo in 2019 was a tremendous success, with a sell-out attendance. We’re already seeing that the Scottish Skipper Expo 2022 will be a great place to do business, as well as providing the ideal venue for the fishing industry to network and socialise.’
