Vestværft to build seiner for Norwegian owner
Hvide Sande shipyard Vestværft has signed a contract with Norwegian company Knut Olav AS of Sørvågen for a new purse seiner/seine netter.
Lasse S-47 ready for sandeel
The latest delivery from the Vestværft yard in Hvide Sande has been handed over to owners Gitte Henning and is ready to start fishing sandeel for human consumption. It has been designed to operate on herring, sandeel and sprat fisheries.
Bangladesh gets fisheries research vessel
The Sumber Samudra Sdn. Bhd. yard at Perak in Malaysia recently delivered a 37.80 metre fisheries research and survey vessel. Built for the Bangladesh Department of Fisheries, the new vessel completed official sea trials and additional trials for the fishing gear have also been completed.
Ramsgate yard’s healthy orderbook
Audacious Marine in Ramsgate has had a busy year, with an even busier one to come. Paul Cannon who runs the company said that the yard’s orderbook is a healthy one, and all of the work they have lined up is for fishing vessels.

Kleven to build for Spain
In an unusual reversal, a Norwegian yard is to build a trawler for owners in Spain. Kleven has signed a contract with Spanish fishing company Pesquera Ancora for an 80 metre factory trawler to be delivered in February 2018.
Ramoen afloat
The Armon shipyard at Gijon in Spain yesterday launched a new factory stern trawler for Norwegian fishing company Ramoen. Fitting out is now in progress with the ship at the quayside, and it is expected to be delivered this summer.
New Cleopatra from Iceland to Tromsø
Fishing company West Atlantic, based in Tromsø in northern Norway, has taken delivery of a new Cleopatra 36B longliner from Trefjar in Iceland.
