Owners in Austevoll in the west of Norway have taken delivery of a pair of purse seiner/seine netters delivered by Stadyard in Måløy.

Katrine S has been built for fishing company Oma Kyst and Kalsøybas belongs to PR Jari AS. These 14.99-metre, 8-metre beam vessels are built with 120 cubic metres of RSW tank capacity, a significant achievement for vessels of this size.
‘This is an investment for the future. One that will strengthen our operations, profitability and recruitment to the industry,’ said Arild Sekkingstad, owner of Katrine S.
Katrine S and Kalsøybas are a development of the design of the yard’s newbuild no 39 TA Senior, which was delivered in 2017. These new vessels are designed to support more efficient and environmentally friendly coastal fishing along both northern and western parts of Norway.
Each has accommodation for a crew of up to six.
‘These vessels may be small, but they are equipped as if they were twice the size. It takes millimetre-level precision to fit everything in, said Stadyard project manager André Høydal.
‘We are proud to deliver high-quality vessels at this scale. The market demand for this vessel type is clearly growing.’
