The contract for the deck machinery for a new trawler being built for Atlantic Dawn Group in Killybegs has gone to a local supplier.
The new Ella, to be delivered by Mooney Boats at the end of 2020, is a 27.38 metre whitefish/pelagic trawler with an 8 metre beam and is a Vestværft design with the hull currently under construction in Poland.
Seaquest Systems are already at work preparing the deck machinery, including 20-tonne trawl winches with capacity for 850 fathoms of 22m wire, automatic spooling, and drums grooved to suit the wire diameter. The trawl winches are being built with direct drive two-speed hydraulic motors and will have both local and proportional electric control
The package for Ella also includes a 20-tonne top-line winch and 20-tonne net drums, as well as 15-tonne mid-line and tail-end winches, plus a 6-tonne gilson and a 2 tonne netsounder winch.
The 1.5-tonne/7 metre powerblock crane comes with a SeaQuest powerblock head with powered tilt. It has a 1.5 tonne lifting capacity and also provides a 1.5 tonne pull. This is built with stainless steel hinge pins and cylinder rods, and with all external pipework and fittings, including hose fittings, in stainless steel.
SeaQuest are also supplying the 14-inch fish pump, hydraulic hose reel, 14-inch Pump-Thru fish hose reel, hydraulic systems for both the fish pump and the main winch installation, plus wheelhouse control panels the radio control system for the powerblock crane.
