The Russian Fishery Company (RFC) in partnership with the Agama Group is planning the construction of a new processing factory to serve its northern fisheries. The 60 tonne per day Northern Cod factory is expected to be in operation in late 2019.
The factory represents a €10 million investment and will be equipped to produce cod and haddock fillets and mince.
From 2020 RFC will receive an additional 1800 tonnes of cod quota and 500 tonnes of haddock quota, once the Russian Cod factory has been commissioned.
‘The construction of the Russian Cod factory is one of the major projects in RFC’s strategy to increase the share of high value-added products in our portfolio,’ said RFC CEO Andrey Teterkin.
‘The company has also started projects to build the coastal factory Russian Pollock in the Far East and a series of large-capacity trawler-processors, the first of which will be in operation in 2020. These projects will provide the company with a new level of efficiency in the production of high-quality products, which will ensure its long-term competitive position.’
