Russian Fishery Company’s (RFC) trawler Ivan Kalinin has been granted ISO 22000 certification, and two more are ready to be audited for the same certification.
The certification states that the proper processing equipment is used, with full maintenance carried out and adhered to and all required sanitary and hygienic processes followed, from preventing contamination of equipment to monitoring the hygiene and health of personnel.
This guarantees the food safety of the products manufactured by the company.
‘The audit carried out by the Sanitary Service of Far Eastern Fisheries on board Ivan Kalinin confirmed the high level of work organisation in the food safety management. This certifies this vessel for compliance with ISO 22000 requirements,’ commented auditor Anton Bogdanov.
Two more RFC vessels, Mys Basargina and Geroi Shironincy have been certified for compliance with GOST R 51705.1 requirements. These vessels will also be certified for compliance with the ISO 22000 standard.
The company plans to certify all new vessels currently under construction to this standard.
