Piriou has launched a new 21 metre netter/longliner at the shipyard in Concarneau.
Camelys was ordered a year ago by Adrien Delevaud and Armement Coopératif Artisanal Vendéen (ACAV), and the new vessel is expected to operate from Port Joinville on the Ile d’Yeu.
The new boat is now being outfitted at the Concarneau yard and is expected to be delivered to its owners at the end of this year.
Camelys is intended to operate primarily in the Bay of Biscay, with options for fishing in the English Channel.
Piriou and ACAV have co-operated on new fishing vessels, including trawler/seine netters Cayola and Mabon 3 which were built for ACAV in 2013 and 2014.
