Norway’s Pelagic Association has appointed Mariann Frantsen as its new director.
She grew up at Ibestad in Troms and studied at Alta University. Fisheries have been an important part of her upbringing and working life. She lives in Bergen.
For the last five years she has been a consultant to the Pelagic Association and was on the Association’s board when it was established in 2011.
She looks forward to building the Association further, both the deep-sea and coastal segments. She commented that she expects to place a strong emphasis on providing member services to fishing companies related to the numerous issues that concern fishing operators.
