Bornholm company Ocean Prawns has signed a contract with the Tersan Shipyard for a new Skipsteknisk-designed triple-rig trawler with a 2022 delivery date.
The new trawler will have an 82.30 metre overall length and an 18 metre beam, with a 1200 tonne capacity fishroom and a factory deck laid out for processing shrimp and Greenland halibut.
Accommodation is for a crew of up to 35 in high-quality living areas.
Delivery is scheduled for the last quarter of 2022.
This is the yard’s third contract for a factory trawler to be signed in the last few months, and the latest in a long series of sophisticated Skipsteknisk-designed catcher/processor vessels for fishing companies around the North Atlantic.
‘We are pleased and proud to have the chance to work together with Ocean Prawns for this significant project,’ said Tersan’s Sakir Erdogan.
‘NB1107 will be the first project that we will deliver to Denmark. She will be one of the world’s most modern fishing vessels which will definitely add value both to our company and to Ocean Prawns. It will be a great pleasure to co-operate with Ocean Prawns and Skipsteknisk to build such a high quality and sophisticated vessel.’
