Exports of Norwegian Salmon in February totalled NOK 1.4 billion, according to the latest figures from Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Seafood Export Council. This is the highest value ever recorded for February exports of Norwegian Salmon. The price of fresh Norwegian Salmon in February was NOK 2.79 higher than in the same month last year. The volume of exports of Norwegian Salmon in February showed a decline of 10% to 45 000 tonnes.
Exports of Norwegian Salmon to the EU increase in value
While the value of exports to markets outside the EU fell by 2% in February, exports to the EU showed an increase of 4%. Exports to Germany and France showed the biggest increase in value, while exports to Denmark showed a decline.
Fall in exports to eastern Europe
The value of exports of Norwegian Salmon to eastern Europe in February fell by 25%. Exports to Russia declined by NOK 32 million and to Ukraine by NOK 8 million in February.
Strong growth in exports to USA
The value of exports of Norwegian Salmon to the USA in February increased by NOK 23 million. This is 81% higher than in the same month last year. The strongest growth was seen in exports of fresh Norwegian Salmon fillets. The volume of exports of Norwegian Salmon increased from 306 tonnes in February last year to 762 tonnes this year. The price of Norwegian Salmon fillets has increased by 7% to NOK 54.27.
Exports of Norwegian Fjord Trout up
The value of exports of Norwegian Fjord Trout in February increased by 21% to NOK 156 million. The volume of exports totalled 5 422 tonnes. This is 7% lower than for the same month last year. The strongest growth was to Russia, Japan and Taiwan.
