Carsoe’s New Year began with sea trials for the newest Russian Fishery Company (RFC) factory trawler Vladimir Limanov.
Operating in the Far East where spare parts aren’t always quickly and easily sourced, Vladimir Limanov is going through sea trials with a Carsoe spare parts container on deck, essentially a mobile warehouse of spare components for the whole of the factory trawler’s processing deck.
Shipping the container of parts and equipment is part of Carsoe’s service commitment, supporting the team of Carsoe engineers on board to make any adjustments during the sea trials.
‘The spare parts container makes us self-sufficient at sea and we avoid having to wait several weeks for spare parts,’ explained Carsoe’s installation and commissioning manager Jimmy Nielsen.
‘We have it all on board and can keep the processing plant up and running without production stops.’
The spare parts inventory will also make it efficient to perform regular maintenance on the equipment.
Carsoe is contracted to deliver complete processing plants for the next six RFC vessels, and the container will be shipped from one vessel to the next as they are built and set off on their sea trials.
