The latest in a series of longliners for Russian owners has been floated off for final outfitting at the Severnaya shipyard in Saint Petersburg.
Designed by Marin Teknikk, Gandvik-3 is one of the four MT 1112 XL longliners ordered under the Russian government’s investment quotas initiative.
Like its sister vessels, Gandvik-3 is designed to fish for demersal species in northern waters for fishing company Virma.
The 58-metre, 13-metre beam vessel is outfitted with a processing plant expected to produce 25 tonnes of finished products per 24 hours, with catches held in a 600-tonne capacity refrigerated fishroom.
Engine power on board is 2700kW and accommodation is for a crew of up to 36.
