There’s less than a month to go before the UL Sport Arena opens its doors for the Irish Skipper Expo, bringing together fishermen and the marine industry from Ireland and beyond.
More than 125 companies are already confirmed as participants in an event that showcases products and services with a range that cover everything from €60 lobster pots to €6,000,000 vessel orders.
The two-day expo takes place Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th February.
‘The show will feature a fantastic range of products and services from the world’s leading marine brands,’ said show organiser Sharon Boyle, Commercial Fishing Manager at Mara Media.
‘We have a huge variety of exhibiting companies this year, with every product and service represented – from shipyards to marine electronics, deck machinery, trawl gear and creels, as well as catch handling systems, insurance services and offshore wind energy.’
She commented that the focus of the Irish Skipper Expo is to give the industry a professional platform to conduct business in a face-to-face setting, giving business owners the opportunity to speak to a range of suppliers under the one roof.
The location is also set for the conference central on the eve of the show, with the IFA Aquaculture’s annual conference and AGM taking place at the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel and The NMCI’S Seafarer Conference taking place at the Castletroy Hotel on Thursday 23rd March.
The irish Skipper Expo organisers take pride in creating a relaxed, informal setting where people from across the industry can come together to catch up with old friends and network with business associates each year – and with the level of uncertainty in the industry in recent years, Sharon Boyle firmly believes it’s important to provide exhibitors and their guests with an opportunity to network in a social setting.
‘We are delighted to confirm that we are hosting our complimentary show reception in the famous traditional pub and live music venue – Dolan’s Bar & Restaurant in Limerick city. With live music and refreshments, the reception will give exhibitors and their guests an opportunity to relax and network after a busy first day on Friday 23rd February,’ she said.
Entry to the Irish Skipper Expo is free. Visitors can register on arrival, or save time on the day by registering online in advance.
