New Norwegian pelagic vessel Havsnurp is starting its fishing career on herring, and is working with an all-Furuno package of fishfinders in the wheelhouse, delivered by Ålesund Furuno dealer Marineelektronikk AS.
Havsnurp’s package of electronics includes FSV-75 high-frequency, FSV-85 medium frequency and FSV-25S low frequency sonars, as well as an F3D-S 3D sonar and a TS-360 trawl sonar mounted on the headline of the trawl – plus an FCV-38 echo sounder. The owners also opted for a BlueBridge screen management system.
‘It’s a pleasure to get this order from Havsnurp. In collaboration with the owners, we came up with an ideal bridge concept,’ said Sture Vatnehol at Marineelektronikk.
‘They chose large screen surfaces where the BlueBridge Matrix solution gives them the opportunity to run full-screen mode for an instrument, or split view displays for several instruments at the same time, on the same screen. We wish the crew the best of luck.’
‘We chose the BlueBridge screen control because we believe that this will systematise and simplify work on the bridge. We have two touch screens that act as a control panel and can easily choose which instrument we present on each screen. We also have pre-defined profiles that are adapted to the mode of operation. We are now looking forward to trying this out,’ said Havsnurp’s skipper Tor Inge Stølen.
The new Havsnurp will largely operate the same fishery as the older vessel of the same name, but with some differences. A great deal of emphasis has been placed on modernisation, safety, ergonomically good working conditions, sustainable fishing and environmentally friendly operation. It also has a processing deck on board, making it possible to handle by-catches of whitefish effectively.
