Dutch fly-shooter Riemda UK-160 is reported to have been lost in the Channel on Wednesday night.
Initial reports are that the processing deck became flooded, with pumps unable to cope with the ingress of water, until the skipper sent a distress alert before the crew abandoned the sinking vessel, in a position north of Dieppe.
Four crew are reported to have been picked up by another Dutch vessel and a fifth lifted from the water by a French rescue helicopter.
The 32.90 metre Riemda UK-160 was built in Spain in 2007 and was acquired in 2009 by Osprey Trawlers as H-357. In 2018 it was replaced by a new vessel and sold to Urk fishing company Brands.
