Evotec secured yet a contract for the delivery of winch equipment to a Faroese fishing vessel ordered by Varðin from the MEST yard in Tórshavn. This is in addition to Norwegian company Evotec’s contract for the winch systems for Varðin’s 90-metre pelagic vessel under construction in Denmark.
‘We’re thrilled with this project. We already have a 90-metre purse seiner P/F Varðin, and this is an example of our ability to achieve high customer satisfaction and establish long-term relationships,’ said Evotec sales manager Håkon Woldsund, commenting that the system for Varðin’s new freezer trawler is their fifth contract for this vessel type in the last two years.
MEST Shipyard is scheduled to deliver the 44.15-metre trawler in 2026. This modern design will be outfitted for twin-rig trawl gear and will have an impressive 40 tonne/day freezing capacity. Evotec will delivers its robust MulitSoft Trawl system, which contributes to reduced emissions and provides excellent dynamics.
‘Evotec’s focus on sustainable technology and efficient handling solutions for the fishing fleet shows positive results. Evotec has quickly established itself as a global market leader with significant ambitions for the future,’ said Evotec CEO Jogeir Romestrand, adding that having established a strong presence on the Faroese market, the company has set up a local service hub with competent personnel and available spare parts.
